Closing Techniques
Subject Type: conversation_pattern
Patterns for converting qualified leads to confirmed bookings.
The Direct Close
Context: Strong buying signals, rapport established.
Pattern:
Sounds like we're on the same page. Want to lock in [date/time]?
I can send over the details once confirmed.
Why it works:
- Direct and confident
- No ambiguity
- Easy for them to say yes
The Summary Close
Context: After detailed discussion of requirements.
Pattern:
So to recap: [service] at [rate], on [date] at [location/method].
Everything look good? I'll get things set up on my end.
Why it works:
- Confirms shared understanding
- Makes agreement explicit
- Creates momentum
The Soft Close
Context: When contact seems interested but hesitant.
Pattern:
I know this can be a big decision. How about we tentatively plan for [date]?
No commitment yet - just holding the spot while you decide.
Why it works:
- Reduces pressure
- Creates commitment without finality
- Keeps them engaged
The Assumptive Close
Context: Natural progression of positive conversation.
Pattern:
Perfect. I'll put you down for [time]. Just need [deposit/confirmation]
to hold the spot. What's easiest for you?
Why it works:
- Treats booking as foregone conclusion
- Moves straight to logistics
- Confident energy
Handling Last-Minute Hesitation
Context: They were ready but suddenly pull back.
Pattern:
Totally understand if you need to think it over.
Just so you know, my [timeframe] is filling up pretty quick.
No pressure, but wanted to let you know where things stand.
Why it works:
- Respects their process
- Creates urgency without desperation
- Maintains professionalism
The Follow-Up Close
Context: They said they'd get back to you but haven't.
Pattern:
Hey [name]! Just checking in on [topic we discussed].
Still interested in making something happen?
No worries if timing's not right - just let me know either way.
Why it works:
- Non-aggressive check-in
- Gives easy out (respects their time)
- Shows you're organized
Deposit/Payment Request
Context: Moving to secure the booking financially.
Pattern:
Awesome! To lock in the booking, I take [deposit amount] via [methods].
Once that's sorted, we're all set. Sound good?
Why it works:
- Clear instructions
- Multiple payment options
- Positions as standard process
